Information for the 2019 Glass Ed Banquet and Awards

Our 2019 Annual Awards Banquet will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 10:30 AM, and is once again hosted at the beautiful Kellogg Biological Station. Located at

Kellogg Biological Station, (McCrary Dining Hall), 370 East Gull Lake Dr.,  Hickory Corners, MI  49060.

Featured Speakers-  “Feelings”-  The dreaded “F” word few horsewoman dare talk about; but feelings are undeniable and all of us experience them.  Stacey Lawrence and Lisa Ruiter will help provide insight in how to cope with the stress of big emotions in the horse show world.      Stacey is a holistic psychotherapist who started her professional career over 10 years ago as a social worker in the US Army. During her time in the service, Stacey was trained by the experts – and delivered the most effective treatment to those that protect our country. In January of 2019, Stacey started a private practice in her hometown of Kalamazoo, MI after leaving active duty. Stacey continues to serve her country in the Michigan National Guard, is currently licensed through the State of Michigan and is an active Heart-centered Hypnotherapist. Stacey is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and auricular acupuncture.  Lisa Ruiter manages  local eventing and dressage barn, Serenity Farms. In addition to teaching and training, Lisa practices equine assisted psychotherapy.

Luncheon: Buffet meal includes a large salad and fruit bar, Taco bar, homemade soups and bread, side dishes, gourmet dessert, and beverages.

More Than Just Awards! In addition to the presentation of year end awards and certificates of achievement, the annual silent auction will take place, several door prizes will be awarded, there will be a drawing for a free GED membership for 2020, and the winners of the two Classic Saddlery $100 Gift Certificates and the Jackson’s Western Store $100 Gift Certificate will also be chosen—but members must be present to win!
